AEK Athens FC prevails against Volos NFC with a 2-0 victory
AEK Athens FC triumphed over Volos NFC with a 2-0 score at the OPAP Arena in Athens, during the 4th round of the Greek Super League 1.
The match began with territorial dominance from AEK, who found the opening goal in the 22nd minute with a goal by F. Pierrot, assisted by L. Rota. The AEK forward received a yellow card at the end of the first half, along with G. Mitoglou and O. Altman for Volos NFC.
In the second half, AEK continued their dominance but was held back by the Volos defense. Despite a goal disallowed for offside by A. Callens in the 53rd minute, AEK managed to score their second goal in the 62nd minute thanks to A. Koita, who took advantage of a teammate’s assist.
Volos attempted to react but couldn’t find the path to goal. The match concluded with an AEK victory, placing them at the top of the table.
