Yokohama FC defeats Shimizu S-Pulse in hard-fought Yokohama match
Yokohama FC secured a 2-0 victory over Shimizu S-Pulse in a thrilling encounter at the NHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium in Yokohama on April 6th, as part of the 2025 J1 League Round 9. The match, officiated by Yusuke Ohashi, was characterized by a significant possession disparity, with Shimizu S-Pulse dominating at 67% compared to Yokohama FC’s 33%. Despite this, Yokohama FC proved more clinical in front of goal.
K. Yamada opened the scoring in the 50th minute, assisted by A. Fukumori. S. Sakuragawa added a second goal in the 77th minute, unassisted. Yokohama FC’s Lukian received a yellow card in the 25th minute. Although Shimizu S-Pulse had 11 shots, none found the target, while Yokohama FC, with just 5 shots, managed 2 on target.
