Thrilling Draw as Yokohama FC and Nagoya Grampus Battle to a Tie in Yokohama
Yokohama, Japan – In a vibrant and eventful match, Yokohama FC and Nagoya Grampus drew 2-2 at the MNHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium in the 34th round of the J1 League.
Yokohama FC took the lead in the 20th minute thanks to a goal by S. Sakuragawa, who capitalized on an excellent assist from A. Fukumori. The home team managed to defend their lead for most of the first half, despite Nagoya Grampus’ dominance in possession (66%).
In the second half, Nagoya Grampus came out with renewed energy and managed to equalize in the 71st minute with a penalty converted by S. Inagaki. The visitors’ pressure continued, and in the 80th minute, Y. Sato scored a goal that gave Nagoya Grampus the lead.
Just when it seemed that victory was going to Nagoya, M. Ito of Yokohama FC scored in the 90th minute, rescuing a valuable point for his team.
The match was characterized by a high number of fouls (23 from Yokohama FC and 7 from Nagoya Grampus) and several yellow cards.
