WSG Wattens staged a comeback to defeat Wolfsberger AC in a thrilling match at the Tivoli Stadion Tirol in Innsbruck. The game, part of the 19th round of the Austrian Bundesliga, ended with a 4-3 victory for the home team. Wolfsberger AC took the lead with a goal from A. Jasic in the 9th minute. However, WSG Wattens responded quickly with a goal from J. Lawrence in the 24th minute, tying the match. The second half was even more vibrant. A. Jasic scored again for Wolfsberger AC in the 65th minute, but WSG Wattens showed great resilience. L. Hinterseer scored two goals, in the 84th and 90th minutes, assisted by J. David and M. Taferner respectively. Finally, Wolfsberger AC scored a penalty in injury time, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat. Despite WSG Wattens having more possession (55%), both teams created scoring chances; WSG Wattens had 8 shots (5 on target) while Wolfsberger AC had 13 (5 on target). WSG Wattens received three yellow cards, while Wolfsberger AC received none.
