Wolfsberger AC defeats FC BW Linz in a low-scoring affair
Wolfsberg, Austria – Wolfsberger AC secured a 2-0 victory over FC BW Linz in a match played on Saturday, May 11th at the Lavanttal Arena. The game, part of the Austrian Bundesliga championship round, saw Wolfsberger AC triumph despite having less possession (45%).
Goals came early and in the second half. M. Pink scored the opener in the 6th minute, assisted by A. Jasic. M. Ullmann added a second goal in the 53rd minute, with an assist from T. Ballo. While FC BW Linz controlled possession (55%) and had more shots (10 to Wolfsberger’s 6), they failed to find the back of the net. Their inability to convert chances proved decisive. Both teams committed numerous fouls (11 for Wolfsberger and 14 for Linz), but no cards were shown. The referee for the match was Christian-Petru Ciochirca.
