Freiburg Dominates Bremen at the Weserstadion
In a match held at the Weserstadion in Bremen, SC Freiburg secured a 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen. The visiting team capitalized on their opportunities, while Bremen struggled to find their rhythm despite dominating possession with 61%.
Freiburg opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a penalty goal by V. Grifo. Shortly after, the match was interrupted by several yellow cards, including one for J. Beste of Freiburg and another for C. Puertas of Bremen in the first half. The intensity continued in the second half with yellow cards for J. Stage, M. Grull, and F. Agu of Bremen, as well as for L. Kubler of Freiburg.
J. Adamu extended Freiburg’s lead in the 54th minute, thanks to an assist from V. Grifo. Bremen had the opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 59th minute with a penalty, but R. Schmid missed the shot. To further complicate Werder Bremen’s situation, K. Coulibaly scored an own goal in the 75th minute, sealing the victory for Freiburg. Despite their 12 shots, Bremen only managed to get 5 on target and failed to convert their dominance into goals.
