Burnley Overwhelms Ten-Man Watford at Vicarage Road
Burnley secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road. The Championship match, played on April 18th, 2025, in round 43 of the regular season, saw Burnley dominate possession (65% to 35%) and shots on target (7 to 5). Watford took the early lead through Doumbia’s goal in the 8th minute, assisted by Vata. However, Burnley fought back with goals from Flemming (43′) and Brownhill (58′), the latter assisted by Mejbri. The game was punctuated by numerous yellow and red cards. Watford suffered the dismissals of Sissoko (two yellow cards) and Kayembe (two yellow cards), along with seven further yellow cards.
