Thrilling Draw Between Volos NFC and AEK Athens FC at Panthessaliko Stadium
Volos, Greece – In a hard-fought match at the Panthessaliko Stadium, Volos NFC and AEK Athens FC played to a draw in a game filled with emotion and cards. The match, part of matchday 23 of the Super League 1, 2025 season, left both teams with a bittersweet taste.
Volos NFC surprised early, with a goal from M. Comba in the 14th minute, after a play with no assist. However, Comba also received a yellow card in the 19th minute. AEK Athens FC responded, and B. Varga equalized in the 34th minute, assisted by R. Marin. The first half ended with a yellow card for L. Jovic of AEK Athens FC.
In the second half, Jan Hurtado put Volos NFC ahead again in the 61st minute, via a penalty. The match became increasingly tense, with a flurry of yellow cards for both teams. G. Bouzoukis, A. Koita, M. Gonzalez, G. Kargas, N. Makni, and M. Siampanis of Volos NFC were cautioned, while M. Gacinovic of AEK Athens FC also received a card. A goal by B. Varga for AEK was disallowed for offside in the 71st minute. Just when it seemed that Volos would take the victory, F. Relvas equalized for AEK Athens FC in the 90th minute, assisted by B. Varga.
