Vitoria and Juventude Draw in Incident-Packed Match
Salvador, Bahia – In a Brazilian Serie A match played at the Estádio Manoel Barradas, Vitoria and Juventude drew in a game that had everything: expulsions, goals disallowed by VAR, cards, and penalties. The match, refereed by Raphael Claus, ended with a score of two to two.
The match started uphill for Juventude with the early expulsion of Cipriano in the 10th minute. Vitoria took advantage of the numerical advantage, and Renato Kayzer opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, assisted by A. Cantalapiedra. Kayzer extended the lead at the beginning of the second half, in the 46th minute.
Juventude did not give up and pulled one back in the 81st minute with a goal from Igor Formiga, assisted by Nene. The equalizer came in the final minutes, when Nene converted a penalty in the 90th minute.
Despite the even possession (50% for each team), Vitoria had more shots (17 against 13), although both teams had the same number of shots on target (4). The match was characterized by a high number of fouls (14 by Juventude and 9 by Vitoria) and cards. In addition to the expulsion of Cipriano for Juventude, Neris was expelled for Vitoria in the 66th minute. VAR also played a role by disallowing a goal from Jadson for Juventude due to offside in the 58th minute.
