Vitesse Draws with Jong AZ in Thrilling GelreDome Encounter
Arnhem, Netherlands – Vitesse and Jong AZ played out a 2-2 draw in a thrilling match at the GelreDome in Arnhem on April 4th, 2025, in the 33rd round of the Eerste Divisie. Despite Jong AZ enjoying more possession (55%), Vitesse proved more clinical in front of goal.
Vitesse took an early lead through E. Cornelisse in the 22nd minute (assisted by G. Van Zwam), and extended their advantage with a goal from G. de Regt in the 28th minute. However, Jong AZ fought back in the second half. H. de Wit scored in the 68th minute (assisted by J. Gerold), and R. Daal netted in stoppage time (90th minute) to secure a draw.
