Cambuur Thrashes Vitesse in Dominant GelreDome Display
Cambuur achieved a resounding 6-0 victory over Vitesse at the GelreDome in Arnhem on November 22nd, 2024, in a matchday 16 Eerste Divisie clash. Referee R. Vereijken oversaw the game, which saw Cambuur dominate possession (53%) and convert their chances with clinical efficiency.
Goals rained down early for Cambuur. R. Balk opened the scoring in the 14th minute, followed by I. Alhaft in the 15th. T. Poll extended the lead in the 37th minute, and B. Pauwels added a fourth in the 42nd. In the second half, an own goal by A. Tsingaras in the 82nd minute and a late strike by T. Rolke in the 90th minute completed the rout. Despite the defeat, Vitesse managed some attempts on goal, but a lack of finishing power and Cambuur’s resolute defense prevented any comeback.
