Vissel Kobe Stages Comeback to Defeat Shimizu S-Pulse in Thrilling Match
Kobe, Japan – In a hard-fought match at NOEVIR Stadium Kobe, Vissel Kobe secured an important victory against Shimizu S-Pulse, solidifying their position in the J1 League. Despite a challenging start, the home team demonstrated their superiority in ball possession (63%) and ultimately translated that advantage into goals.
The match ignited in the 40th minute when K. Kozuka, assisted by R. Yamahara, put Shimizu S-Pulse ahead with a goal that surprised the home crowd. Thuler of Vissel Kobe had received a yellow card just three minutes earlier. The first half ended with a minimal advantage for Shimizu.
In the second half, Vissel Kobe came out with a renewed attitude. Y. Kuwasaki, assisted by Y. Osako, equalized in the 65th minute, unleashing joy in the stands. Vissel Kobe’s constant pressure paid off in stoppage time when G. Sakai, assisted by R. Komatsu, scored the winning goal in the 90th minute, securing the three points for the home team.
Although Shimizu S-Pulse tried to defend their initial lead, Vissel Kobe dominated the game with 22 total shots, although only 6 were on target. Shimizu S-Pulse had 10 total shots, with only 2 on target. Vissel Kobe committed fewer fouls (6) than Shimizu S-Pulse (13), who also received a yellow card in the second half, Matheus Bueno was cautioned.
