Vissel Kobe Rout Shanghai SIPG in AFC Champions League Clash
Kobe, Japan – Vissel Kobe secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Shanghai SIPG in an AFC Champions League group stage match played at NOEVIR Stadium Kobe on February 11th, 2025. The home team dominated the game, although Shanghai SIPG held a slight edge in possession (52% to Kobe’s 48%), Vissel Kobe’s superior finishing power was the deciding factor.
Vissel Kobe took the lead in the 12th minute through Yuya Muto, assisted by Koya Yuruki. A disallowed goal for offside by Daizen Sasaki in the 18th minute was a brief setback, but Kobe continued their dominance in the second half. Yuya Kuwasaki (54’) and Koya Yuruki (56’) added to the lead, assisted by Honda and Muto respectively. A missed penalty by Yuya Osako in the 78th minute didn’t affect the outcome, as Osako scored again in the 82nd minute.
Shanghai SIPG struggled to create chances, managing only two shots, both off target. Yellow cards were shown to Li Shuai and Matheus Jussa for Shanghai SIPG, and to Koya Yamauchi for Vissel Kobe. The clear difference in attacking prowess and overall performance led to a comfortable 4-0 win for Vissel Kobe.
