Viking Unleashes Offensive Firepower in Stavanger
Stavanger, October 25, 2025 – In a vibrant and emotional match at the Lyse Arena, Viking secured a resounding victory over Bryne, showcasing their offensive prowess in front of their home fans. Despite a relatively balanced game in ball possession (51% for Viking, 49% for Bryne), their effectiveness in front of goal made the difference.
Viking opened the scoring early, in the 21st minute, with a goal from M. Roseth assisted by Z. Tripic. The joy wouldn’t last long, as a goal by K. Askildsen was disallowed by VAR in the 24th minute for offside. However, Viking didn’t falter, and H. Falchener extended the lead just before halftime, in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Viking maintained their relentless pace. P. Christiansen scored twice, in the 54th and 62nd minutes (the first assisted by E. Austbo and the second by Z. Tripic), consolidating the home side’s dominance. Bryne managed to pull one back in the 67th minute through M. Grodem, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Viking onslaught. N. D’Agostino sealed the rout in the 89th minute, establishing the final score.
Viking, with 14 shots (10 on target), showed greater effectiveness in attack, while Bryne, with 9 shots (only 3 on target), failed to capitalize on their opportunities. The match, refereed by Sivert Amland, was intense and contested, with a total of 21 fouls committed (9 by Viking and 12 by Bryne) and two yellow cards, one for each team.
