Thrilling Match at Zorrilla: Sporting Gijon Secures Victory Against Valladolid
In a hard-fought match at the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla in Valladolid, Sporting Gijon secured an important victory against the home team. The match, corresponding to matchday 10 of the Segunda División, was marked by intensity and goals.
Sporting Gijon took an early lead in the 12th minute with a goal by J. Otero, assisted by J. Dubasin. However, Valladolid responded and equalized in the 25th minute thanks to Peter Federico. The first half also saw a yellow card for A. Corredera of Sporting Gijon.
In the second half, J. Otero put Sporting Gijon ahead again by converting a penalty in the 49th minute. The match continued with high tension, reflected in a yellow card for G. Campos of Sporting Gijon in the 59th minute. Sporting extended their lead in the 79th minute with a goal by J. Dubasin, assisted by C. Gelabert Pina. P. Garcia of Sporting Gijon received a yellow card in the 77th minute.
Valladolid did not give up and managed to reduce the deficit in the 90th minute with a goal by J. Delgado, assisted by J. Ponceau. Despite the final effort, the home team could not avoid defeat.
Valladolid dominated possession with 63%, but failed to translate it into a victory. Sporting Gijon, with 37% possession, were more effective in front of goal. The match was refereed by Jon Ander Gonzalez Esteban.
