Valerenga Defeats Haugesund in Second-Half Domination
Oslo – Valerenga secured a 3-0 victory over Haugesund at the Intility Arena in a match corresponding to matchday 14 of the Eliteserien. Despite a balanced first half in possession (51% for Valerenga, 49% for Haugesund), the game was defined in the second half with Valerenga’s strong attacking performance.
The first goal came in the 64th minute, scored by F. Ambina, paving the way for the home side. Haugesund, who had already shown signs of tension with several yellow cards (T. Nyhammer in the 57th minute, B. Leite in the 63rd minute, and M. Dia in the 77th minute), failed to turn the situation around.
In the final minutes, E. Sorensen sealed the match with two goals, one in the 84th minute assisted by H. Bjordal and another in the 90th minute, sealing the victory for Valerenga. Despite Haugesund’s 7 shots, only 4 were on target, while Valerenga demonstrated greater effectiveness with 13 shots on target out of the 30 attempted. The match was also marked by 13 fouls committed by Haugesund, surpassing Valerenga’s 11. M. Brajanac of Valerenga received a yellow card in the 90th minute.
