Valerenga Overcomes Bryne in Thrilling Match in Oslo
Oslo, August 30, 2025 – In a hard-fought match at the Intility Arena, Valerenga defeated Bryne in a vibrant game corresponding to matchday 20 of the Norwegian Eliteserien. The home team dominated possession with 57% compared to Bryne’s 43%.
Valerenga started strong, opening the scoring early with a goal from H. Bjordal in the 3rd minute, assisted by M. Ofkir. Shortly after, E. Sorensen extended the lead with a penalty goal in the 8th minute. The home team’s offense continued, and F. Thorvaldsen scored the third goal in the 27th minute, thanks to an assist from H. Bjordal. Just before halftime, M. Thornes pulled one back for Bryne in the 45th minute, assisted by D. Moreira.
The second half was equally exciting. H. Larsen missed a penalty for Bryne in the 52nd minute, but immediately redeemed himself by scoring a goal right after. The match was characterized by physical play, reflected in the yellow cards shown to Vinicius Nogueira (45′) and F. Ambina (50′) for Valerenga, and to K. Haland (56′) and L. Sodal (79′) for Bryne.
