Real Madrid Clinches Victory at Mestalla with Late Goals
Valencia, Spain – In a hard-fought match at the Estadio de Mestalla, Real Madrid defeated Valencia with a score of 2-0, in a game belonging to matchday 23 of La Liga. The “merengue” team, dominating possession with 60%, had to wait until the second half to break the deadlock.
The first goal came in the 65th minute, when A. Carreras, assisted by D. Huijsen, beat the local goalkeeper. Carreras, however, was also shown a yellow card in the 69th minute. Despite Valencia’s attacks, who enjoyed 40% possession and generated seven shots, none of them seriously troubled the Madrid goalkeeper.
Valencia, with five corners in their favor, failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Copete, from Valencia, also received a yellow card in the 88th minute. Finally, in the 90th minute, K. Mbappe, assisted by B. Diaz, sealed the match, extending Real Madrid’s lead. The match, officiated by referee Javier Alberola Rojas, was marked by a total of 23 fouls, 13 committed by Real Madrid and 10 by Valencia.
