USM Alger Dominates ASEC Mimosas with a 3-0 Victory in CAF Confederation Cup
USM Alger secured a convincing 3-0 win against ASEC Mimosas at the Stade du 5 Juillet 1962 in Algiers, in a Group Stage match of the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup. The match, played on December 15th at 7 PM, saw USM Alger dominate possession (57%) and convert their chances effectively.
USM Alger took the lead at the 16th minute with an own goal by M. A. Yabre. I. Belkacemi doubled the lead with a penalty at the 41st minute and added another goal at the 54th minute. Despite the scoreline, the match was a tense affair with a total of 37 fouls committed (18 by USM Alger and 21 by ASEC Mimosas). USM Alger received one yellow card, while ASEC Mimosas received two. ASEC Mimosas failed to test the USM Alger goalkeeper with none of their five shots hitting the target. USM Alger, on the other hand, managed five shots, with three on target.
