Monterrey Overwhelms Urawa at the Rose Bowl
Pasadena, California – In a match held at the Rose Bowl, Monterrey showcased their dominance by convincingly defeating Urawa with an overwhelming offensive performance. The Mexican team controlled possession (60%) and generated a total of 17 shots, 6 of which were on target.
The scoring opened in the 30th minute with a goal by N. Deossa, assisted by F. Ambriz. Just four minutes later, G. Berterame extended the lead thanks to an assist from A. Alvarado. J. Corona made it 3-0 before halftime in the 38th minute, capitalizing on an assist from O. Torres.
In the second half, Monterrey continued to control the game. Although Urawa tried to react, their attack was limited, achieving only 2 shots on target out of their 10 total attempts. A goal by Thiago for Urawa was disallowed for offside after a VAR review in stoppage time. Finally, G. Berterame sealed the victory for Monterrey with his second goal of the match, assisted by N. Deossa in the 90th minute.
