Universitatea Craiova Secures Narrow Victory in Tense Match
Craiova, Romania – Universitatea Craiova defeated AFC Hermannstadt in a tense and tactical match held at the Complex Sportiv Craiova. The match, corresponding to the fifth round of the Romanian Liga I, saw the home team dominate possession with 54% compared to Hermannstadt’s 46%.
The only goal of the match came in the 31st minute, when O. Romanchuk of Universitatea Craiova, assisted by A. Mekvabishvili, managed to beat the opponent’s goalkeeper. Despite the lead, the match remained balanced, with both teams generating 12 shots, although Craiova was more precise, sending 5 shots on target compared to Hermannstadt’s 3.
Hermannstadt, despite their lower possession, managed to force 10 corners compared to only 2 for Craiova, demonstrating their ability to create danger in the opponent’s area.
