FCSB Triumphs Over Universitatea Cluj in Thrilling Match at Cluj Arena
Cluj-Napoca, May 11, 2025.- FCSB secured a 2-0 victory against Universitatea Cluj in a captivating Liga I Championship Round match at the Cluj Arena. Referee Istvan Kovacs oversaw a tense encounter punctuated by yellow cards. Three FCSB players – Valentin Cretu, Florin Tanase, and Adrian Sut – received cautions in the closing stages of the first half.
Despite Universitatea Cluj’s spirited performance and 13 shots (3 on target), FCSB controlled possession (56%) and proved more clinical. Marius Stefanescu’s brace, netting in the 72nd and 77th minutes with assists from Radunovic and Gele respectively, sealed the win for FCSB. Stefanescu emerged as the match-winner. FCSB registered 10 shots, 6 of which were on target, showcasing their superior accuracy.
The final score of 2-0 reflected FCSB’s dominance, even though Universitatea Cluj attempted more shots. The victory solidifies FCSB’s title aspirations.
