Heidenheim defeats Union Berlin in a hard-fought match
Berlin, May 10, 2025 – 1. FC Heidenheim secured a 3-0 victory over Union Berlin in a thrilling match played at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei in Berlin. Despite slightly lower possession (51% for Heidenheim, 49% for Union Berlin), the visiting team dominated the scoreboard thanks to greater effectiveness in attack.
The match started with an early goal by A. Beck in the 12th minute, assisted by M. Pieringer. Union Berlin responded with a yellow card to L. Querfeld in the 25th minute. The second half saw J. Schoppner score for Heidenheim in the 56th minute, also thanks to an assist from M. Pieringer. Union Berlin had a goal disallowed for offside in the 58th minute. Haberer received a yellow card in the 60th minute. Despite Union Berlin’s attempts, including several shots on and off target, Heidenheim sealed the victory with a third goal from A. Beck in the 73rd minute, assisted by P. Wanner. Union Berlin accumulated 14 fouls and two yellow cards, while Heidenheim committed 7 fouls and received no yellow cards.
