Ukraine Secures Victory in Warsaw with Late Goals
Warsaw witnessed an exciting World Cup Qualification match between Ukraine and Iceland, where the Ukrainian team prevailed with a final score of 2 to 0. The match, played at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego, remained tense and close for most of the time, with both teams battling for control of the ball.
Although Iceland proved to be a solid opponent, generating 10 shots with 3 on target and earning 10 corner kicks, it was Ukraine who dominated possession with 52%. However, the Icelandic defense managed to keep the Ukrainian forwards at bay for much of the game.
The key moment came in the 83rd minute, when Oleksandr Zubkov broke the deadlock with a goal, thanks to an assist from Oleksiy Gutsulyak. With Iceland pressing for the equalizer, Ukraine sealed the victory in stoppage time (90th minute) with a goal from Oleksiy Gutsulyak, assisted by Illia Kaliuzhnyi. English referee Anthony Taylor booked one Iceland player and two from Ukraine during the match. Ukraine dominated in shots with a total of 13, 6 of them on target.
