Universidad Católica thrashed Everton de Viña del Mar in a vibrant match played at the Estadio Bicentenario Municipal de La Florida, Santiago, Chile, on April 26th, 2025. The match, part of the 9th round of the Chilean Primera División, ended with a resounding 6-0 victory for Católica.
Católica’s dominance was evident from the start. At the 13th minute, Fernando Zampedri opened the scoring, assisted by Eugenio Mena. Montes extended the lead in the 33rd minute, also assisted by Mena. Before halftime, Zampedri scored his second goal (45th minute), assisted by Jader.
In the second half, Católica continued their dominance. Jader scored the fourth goal in the 56th minute. Montes netted his second goal in the 80th minute, and Mena capped off the scoring with a goal in the 88th minute, assisted by Arancibia Flores.
Católica controlled a significant portion of possession (61%), attempted 16 shots (10 on target) and earned 8 corner kicks. Everton, on the other hand, managed only 8 shots (3 on target) and 5 corner kicks, with 39% possession. The match saw a total of 4 yellow cards: 3 for Católica and 1 for Everton.
