Tigres Unleash Goal Storm at Universitario Against Puebla
San Nicolás de los Garza – Tigres UANL delivered a resounding performance at the Estadio Universitario, defeating Puebla in a match dominated from start to finish. From the 6th minute, with a goal by O. Herrera assisted by B. Parra, Tigres set the tone. D. Lainez extended the lead in the 36th minute with a goal resulting from an assist by J. Brunetta.
The first half also saw two yellow cards for Puebla, to P. Gamarra and N. Diaz.
In the second half, Tigres maintained their offensive ferocity. J. Brunetta found the net in the 52nd minute thanks to a pass from D. Lainez, followed by A. Correa in the 55th minute, assisted by O. Herrera. Misfortune continued to plague Puebla when N. Diaz scored an own goal in the 58th minute.
The match became even more complicated for Puebla when P. Gamarra received a second yellow card, and consequently a red card, in the 76th minute. D. A. Sanchez Guevara joined Tigres’ goalscoring party in the 73rd minute with an assist from A. Correa, and A. Gignac sealed the victory with a penalty in the 90th minute.
Despite having 52% possession, Puebla only managed one shot on target. Tigres, with 48% possession, shot 14 times, 8 of them on target. Tigres’ dominance was reflected in the final score, making their power clear in this Liga MX matchday.
