Djurgårdens IF edged out The New Saints in a hard-fought match at The Croud Meadow in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The game, part of the 2024 UEFA Europa Conference League Group Stage – Matchday 4, ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for the Swedish side. Despite The New Saints enjoying a respectable 39% possession, Djurgårdens’ attacking efficiency proved decisive.
The only goal of the game came in the 41st minute, courtesy of T. Gulliksen, assisted by A. Stahl. The match saw several cautions: A. Stahl and R. Schuller (Djurgårdens IF), and D. Redmond and D. McManus (The New Saints) received yellow cards. J. Une-Larsson also received a yellow card for Djurgårdens. The New Saints managed 7 shots, none on target, while Djurgårdens IF registered 15 attempts, 4 of which were on target.
