Emelec Secures Narrow Victory in Ambato Amidst Disciplinary Issues
Ambato, Ecuador – In a hard-fought match at the Estadio Bellavista de Ambato, Emelec secured a narrow victory against Técnico Universitario in a game marked by high tension and disciplinary issues. The sole goal of the match, scored by J. Ayoví in the 85th minute with an assist from R. Caicedo, was enough to secure the three points for the visiting team.
The match, corresponding to Matchday 25 of the Liga Pro 2025, saw Técnico Universitario with 46% possession and a higher number of shots (13 in total, 5 on target and 6 off target), but their lack of effectiveness and indiscipline proved costly.
