Sydney FC Cruises to Victory Over Kaya FC-Iloilo

Sydney, Australia – Sydney FC secured a convincing 3-1 win against Kaya FC-Iloilo in the sixth matchday of the 2024 AFC Cup group stage, played at the Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Sydney. The match, officiated by Tejas Nagvenkar from India, took place on December 5th, 2024.

The home side dominated possession (63%) and created numerous scoring opportunities, converting three of them. A. Segecic opened the scoring in the 38th minute, assisted by P. Wood, who himself scored the second goal in the 45th minute with an assist from W. Kamijo. In the second half, J. Kucharski sealed the victory with a goal in the 75th minute, assisted by M. France.

Kaya FC-Iloilo, despite their low possession (37%), managed to pull one back in the 85th minute with a goal from R. Lopez, assisted by D. Horikoshi. Despite the consolation goal, Sydney FC demonstrated a clear superiority, reflected in their 15 shots (6 on target) compared to the visitors’ 12 (5 on target). Both teams maintained a clean game, with no yellow or red cards.
