Shanghai Shenhua Thrashed Nantong Zhiyun in a Thrilling Match
Shanghai Shenhua secured a convincing victory over Nantong Zhiyun in round 22 of the Chinese Super League, held at the Shanghai Stadium on August 10th.
The match started with a frenetic pace and Shanghai Shenhua dominated from the beginning. I. Amadou opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a well-taken goal. Nantong Zhiyun were forced to defend and couldn’t do much against the pressure from the home team.
In the 33rd minute, Andre Luis extended the lead with a penalty. The Brazilian striker scored again just 12 minutes later with a great goal, assisted by T. Gao.
In the second half, Shanghai Shenhua continued their dominance and Wu Xi scored the fourth goal in the 72nd minute. Nantong Zhiyun managed to pull one back through Ji Shengpan, who scored in the 76th minute. However, Chan Shinichi sealed the victory in the 86th minute.
Shanghai Shenhua dominated possession (61% vs 39%) and had 21 shots on goal, with 8 on target. Nantong Zhiyun, on the other hand, could only manage 4 shots, all on target.
The final result was 5-1, a resounding victory for Shanghai Shenhua that solidifies them as one of the teams to watch in the Chinese Super League.
