Anderlecht Edges Out Standard Liège in Thrilling Encounter
Anderlecht secured a victory over Standard Liège in a closely fought match at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne in Luik, Belgium. The Jupiler Pro League fixture, refereed by Jasper Vergoote, ended in a 2-0 win for the visiting team.
While Standard Liège had more shots (11 to 7), Anderlecht controlled possession (55% to 45%) and proved more clinical in front of goal. Thierry Hazard opened the scoring in the 63rd minute, assisted by Lucas Augustinsson. The second goal came late, with Nilson Angulo finding the net in the 88th minute, thanks to an assist from Samuel Edozie.
