Rangers Edge Out ST Mirren in Thrilling Paisley Encounter
Rangers secured a victory in a pulsating match against ST Mirren at The SMISA Stadium in Paisley, winning 3-2. The game, part of the first round of the second phase of the 2024 Scottish Premiership, was a back-and-forth affair from the start.
Cyriel Dessers gave Rangers the lead in the 42nd minute, assisted by Nicolas Raskin. However, the lead was short-lived as Martyn O’Hara equalized for ST Mirren just two minutes later. Raskin put Rangers back in front in the 52nd minute, with an assist from Malik Diomande. Despite receiving a yellow card in the 55th minute, Raskin remained instrumental in the Rangers’ attack.
ST Mirren fought back and pulled one back in the 73rd minute through Conor McMenamin, assisted by Dylan John. Despite late efforts from both teams, the score remained unchanged, leaving Rangers as the victors.
The match was characterized by its intensity, with numerous fouls and yellow cards issued to both sides. Rangers dominated possession (58%) and had more shots (10) on goal than ST Mirren (9).
