Motherwell Crushes St. Mirren in Paisley Rout
Paisley, Scotland – Motherwell dominated St. Mirren at The SMISA Stadium, securing a comprehensive victory. The match, part of the Scottish Premiership’s 28th round, saw Motherwell control 70% of the possession and create numerous scoring opportunities.
The first goal arrived early, in the 14th minute, when E. Just, assisted by C. Slattery, opened the scoring. Motherwell’s dominance became even more apparent when T. Maswanhise converted a penalty in the 30th minute.
After the break, Motherwell continued their assault. I. Said, again assisted by C. Slattery, extended the lead in the 49th minute. The situation worsened for St. Mirren when R. King received a red card in the 52nd minute, leaving them with ten men. E. Longelo, also assisted by Slattery, and E. Bjorgolfsson, this time with an assist from T. Sparrow, completed the rout in the 61st and 66th minutes, respectively.
Despite the superiority in possession (70% vs 30%) and shots on goal (6 vs 5), St. Mirren accumulated a total of four yellow cards (K. Phillips, A. Gogic, M. Freckleton, K. Baccus) and one red card, reflecting their frustration on the field. Motherwell, on the other hand, maintained discipline and received no cautions.
