ST Mirren Rout Kilmarnock in Thrilling Paisley Encounter
ST Mirren secured a resounding 5-1 victory over Kilmarnock in a thrilling match at The SMISA Stadium in Paisley, Scotland. The Premiership fixture, officiated by N. Walsh, saw the home side dominate despite having less possession (42% compared to Kilmarnock’s 58%).
The goals started early for the home team. C. Boyd-Munce opened the scoring in the 6th minute, assisted by J. Ayunga. Three minutes later, R. Idowu converted a penalty to extend ST Mirren’s lead. Boyd-Munce struck again in the 58th minute, assisted by R. Taylor, effectively sealing the victory. M. O’Hara (66′) and D. John (69′) added further goals to complete the rout. Kilmarnock managed a consolation goal through a B. Anderson penalty in the 87th minute.
Despite their possession advantage, Kilmarnock were outmatched in shots on target (1 to ST Mirren’s 8) and conceded numerous clear-cut chances. ST Mirren also had more corners (4 to 7) and committed more fouls (15 to 9). Kilmarnock received two yellow cards during the match.
