Melgar Secures Thrilling Victory Over Sporting Cristal in High-Tension Match
Lima, Peru – In an electrifying match held at the Estadio Alberto Gallardo, FBC Melgar secured a valuable victory over Sporting Cristal in the second round of the Primera División. The encounter, marked by high intensity and numerous cards, culminated in a score of Sporting Cristal 1, FBC Melgar 2.
Sporting Cristal dominated possession with 65%, generating 17 shots, although only 4 of them were on target. However, it was FBC Melgar who opened the scoring in the 53rd minute with a goal by Bernardo Cuesta. The match became even more complicated for Sporting Cristal with the expulsion of J. Gonzalez in the 60th minute.
Despite playing with one man down, Sporting Cristal managed to equalize in the 86th minute thanks to a goal by F. Vizeu. However, the joy was short-lived, as in the 90th minute, C.
