Deportivo Garcilaso Defeats Sport Boys in a Hard-Fought Match
Callao, Peru – In a tense match with high ball possession for Sport Boys (68% possession), Deportivo Garcilaso managed to secure a victory with a goal by K. Sandoval in the 34th minute, assisted by P. Erustes. The match, corresponding to matchday 6 of the Clausura of the Peruvian First Division, was marked by a physical game, as evidenced by the numerous fouls committed (11 by Sport Boys and 15 by Deportivo Garcilaso) and the yellow cards shown (2 for Sport Boys and 3 for Deportivo Garcilaso).
Although Sport Boys dominated possession and attempted to create danger with 17 shots (though only 1 on target), Deportivo Garcilaso’s defense proved solid. Deportivo Garcilaso, for its part, took advantage of its limited opportunities, with 10 shots (4 on target), demonstrating greater effectiveness. A goal by M. Almiron for Sport Boys in the 90th minute was disallowed by VAR due to offside, sealing the victory for Deportivo Garcilaso at the Estadio Miguel Grau del Callao, under the refereeing of Jordi Espinoza.
