Hatayspor Holds On in Sivas Despite Red Card and Sivasspor Dominance
Sivas, Turkey – In a match played at the BG Grup 4 Eylül Stadyumu, Hatayspor secured a valuable result despite playing a significant portion of the game with ten men. The match, corresponding to Matchday 11 of the 1. Lig, 2025 Season, was characterized by high possession (70%) for Sivasspor and their constant search for a goal.
Hatayspor took an early lead (6th minute) thanks to a goal by G. Kilama. From that point on, Sivasspor pushed forward, creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities, including 12 shots, although only two of them were on target. The Hatayspor defense, however, proved solid, albeit suffering several yellow cards (J. Okoronkwo, O. Matur, E. Aksoy, V. Bekaj). The situation became even more complicated for the visitors with the sending off of E. Aksoy in the 81st minute.
Sivasspor had the opportunity to equalize in the 83rd minute, but D. Avramovski missed a penalty. However, in the 90th minute, K. Fidan secured the equalizer for the home side. Despite their dominance and the chances created, Sivasspor could not secure the victory, leaving Hatayspor with a valuable point on their visit to Sivas. The refereeing of Omer Tolga Guldibi was strict, showing numerous yellow cards and the aforementioned red.
