Sigma Olomouc Dominates but Narrowly Defeats Depleted Zlin
Olomouc, Czech Republic – In a match played at Andrův stadion under the direction of referee Jakub Wulkan, Sigma Olomouc narrowly defeated Zlin. The match, corresponding to the fifth day of the Czech Liga regular season, was marked by the overwhelming dominance of Olomouc, who enjoyed 71% of the ball possession and generated a total of 24 shots, although only 4 of them were on target.
Zlin, on the other hand, was seriously affected by the early dismissal of J. Cernin in the 19th minute after receiving two consecutive yellow cards. Despite playing with ten men for most of the match, the team managed to keep a clean sheet until the 83rd minute, when D. Vasulin scored the only goal of the match for Sigma Olomouc. The numerical inferiority forced Zlin to fall back and defend tooth and nail, which was reflected in their null offensive production, registering neither a single shot on target nor off target. The match ended with a 1 to 0 in favor of Olomouc.
