Thrilling Match in Shizuoka: Urawa Pressures, Shimizu Resists
Shizuoka, Japan – In a hard-fought match at the IAI Stadium Nihondaira, Urawa Reds dominated possession with 57% compared to Shimizu S-Pulse’s 43%, in a match corresponding to the 31st round of the J1 League. While the scoreline did not fully reflect the intensity on the field, Urawa demonstrated their offensive superiority with a total of 22 shots, 9 of which were on target, while Shimizu S-Pulse attempted to respond with 9 shots, only managing 2 on goal.
Urawa also surpassed their rival in the number of corners, with 4 compared to Shimizu S-Pulse’s 6. The match was marked by physical play, resulting in 10 fouls committed by Shimizu S-Pulse and 6 by Urawa. The only caution of the match was for H. Nakahara of Shimizu S-Pulse in the 90th minute.
