Thrilling Draw in Shizuoka: Shimizu S-Pulse and Kashima Share Points
Shizuoka, Japan – In a hard-fought match at the IAI Stadium Nihondaira, Shimizu S-Pulse and Kashima Antlers played to a draw, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Shimizu S-Pulse took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal by T. Takahashi, assisted by K. Matsuzaki. Despite having less ball possession (34%) compared to Kashima’s 66%, the home team showed defensive resilience, although they accumulated four yellow cards throughout the match. Kashima, who dominated possession and created more goal-scoring opportunities (16 total shots), struggled to find the net. It wasn’t until the 75th minute that N. Ueda equalized the score with an assist from Y. Funabashi.
