Shanghai Shenhua defeats Qingdao Jonoon in a thrilling encounter
Shanghai Shenhua emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Qingdao Jonoon at the Shanghai Stadium. The game, part of the round 7 of the Chinese Super League, ended with a 3-2 scoreline in favor of the home team.
The match started with a flurry of goals. Wellington Silva put Qingdao Jonoon ahead in the 4th minute, but Shanghai Shenhua quickly responded with a goal from Jiang Shenglong in the 8th minute. Andre Luis extended Shenhua’s lead in the 16th minute before E. Saric pulled one back for Qingdao Jonoon with a penalty in the 26th minute. J. Teixeira then restored Shenhua’s two-goal lead with a goal in the 54th minute.
Shanghai Shenhua dominated possession (59%), registering 21 shots (7 on target) and 13 corner kicks, while Qingdao Jonoon had 8 shots (2 on target) and 3 corner kicks. Both teams played competitively, with Shenhua committing 13 fouls and Jonoon 12. Two yellow cards were shown to Qingdao Jonoon and one to Shanghai Shenhua. Despite Shenhua’s dominance, Qingdao Jonoon showed attacking prowess, creating dangerous opportunities. The match, played at Shanghai Stadium on April 16th, 2025, was officiated by Jianxin Du.
