Shandong Luneng Triumphs Over Dalian Zhixing in Thrilling Encounter in Jinan
Shandong Luneng secured a victory against Dalian Zhixing in a match played at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center in Jinan, China, on February 28th, 2025, as part of the second round of the Super League regular season. The game, officiated by Zhen Wei, was full of excitement and controversy.
Shandong took the lead early with a goal from Cryzan in the 12th minute, assisted by Li Yuanyi. Dalian equalized in the 20th minute through Fernando Karanga, assisted by W. Mao. However, Dalian’s joy was short-lived as Karanga received a red card in the 26th minute, leaving his team a man down.

Qazaishvili) and Xie Wenneng added the final goal in the 90th minute. The match concluded with a convincing win for Shandong, who dominated possession (61%) and created more scoring opportunities (18 shots, 10 on target). Dalian, despite the early sending-off, also had their chances, but Shandong’s numerical advantage and greater efficiency proved decisive.
