Ituano defeats Operario-PR in an exciting match
Ituano emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against Operario-PR, winning 2-1 at the Estádio Germano Krüger in Ponta Grossa, Paraná. The match was part of the 21st round of the Brazilian Serie B.
Ituano dominated the first half with an effective display, scoring two goals within the first 23 minutes. Miqueias opened the scoring in the 17th minute, assisted by Vinicius Paiva. Bruno Xavier extended the lead in the 23rd minute, with Marcinho providing the assist.
Operario-PR responded in the second half and managed to pull one back in the 37th minute through Felipe Augusto, who capitalized on a pass from Thales Oleques.
Ituano, with a higher possession of the ball (65% against 35%), created more scoring opportunities (20 against 9) but failed to score a third goal. Operario-PR, despite the defeat, showed good performance in the second half and managed to keep the pressure on Ituano.
Ituano added three important points in their fight for a place in the promotion zone, while Operario-PR was left empty-handed.
