Saudi Arabia Cruises to Victory Over China in Dominant Display
Riyadh, March 20, 2025 – Saudi Arabia secured a commanding victory over China at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, in a match for the 7th round of the Asian World Cup 2026 qualifying third round. Saudi Arabia’s dominance was evident throughout, reflected in their 80% possession compared to China’s 20%. The home side unleashed 20 shots on goal, with 7 on target, while China failed to register a single shot on target.
Salem Al Dawsari opened the scoring in the 50th minute, assisted by Sultan Abdulhamid. The match was significantly impacted by the red card shown to China’s Lin Liangming just before halftime. China also received a yellow card in the first half. Saudi Arabia maintained impeccable discipline, receiving no cards throughout the game. The victory was built on a strong team performance, fluid attacking play, and a clear statistical advantage. The match was officiated by Omar Mohamed Al Ali from the United Arab Emirates.
