Sassuolo Crushes Sampdoria in Thrilling Reggio Emilia Encounter
Sassuolo secured a resounding 5-1 victory over Sampdoria in a captivating match at the MAPEI Stadium – Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia. The game, part of matchday 16 of the 2024 Serie B season, showcased Sassuolo’s dominance, controlling possession (56%) and creating numerous scoring opportunities.
Lauriente opened the scoring for the home side in the 25th minute, assisted by Pieragnolo. Odenthal extended the lead before halftime (45th minute), assisted by Thorstvedt, who had earlier received a yellow card (9th minute). Sampdoria also received two yellow cards, to Ferrari (30th minute) and Benedetti (60th minute).
After the break, Pierini (65th minute) and Berardi (74th and 90th minutes) sealed Sassuolo’s victory, with Berardi scoring two unassisted goals.
