São Paulo Dominates Fluminense in Thrilling Match
In a match played at the MorumBIS in São Paulo, the home team prevailed over Fluminense with a convincing victory. The match, corresponding to matchday 17 of the Brazilian Serie A, was marked by intensity and goals.
Robert Arboleda opened the scoring for São Paulo in the 24th minute, after a great assist from Luciano. The first half also saw two yellow cards for Fluminense and a missed penalty by Ferreira, although he would later redeem himself.
In the second half, Ferreira extended São Paulo’s lead in the 59th minute, with an assist from Marcos Antonio. Although a goal by Bobadilla was disallowed by VAR due to a handball, São Paulo’s dominance was evident. Fluminense pulled one back in the 77th minute with a goal from Samuel Xavier, but the hope was short-lived. Towards the end of the match, G. Tapia sealed the victory for São Paulo in the 90th minute, after a pass from N. Ferraresi.
The match was intense, reflected in the seven yellow cards shown (three for São Paulo and four for Fluminense). São Paulo dominated possession with 47% and generated a greater number of goal opportunities, with 15 shots, nine of them on target, compared to Fluminense’s seven shots, of which only one was on target. São Paulo also surpassed Fluminense in corners (7 to 2).
