Heated Bogotá Derby: Millonarios Defeats Santa Fe in Card-Filled Match
Bogotá, D.C. – In a vibrant and contested match at Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campín, Millonarios defeated Santa Fe in the capital derby. The match, valid for the quadrangular phase of the Colombian Primera A Apertura, was marked by intensity and high tension, reflected in the large number of cautions and one expulsion.
From the opening whistle, referee Carlos Ortega was forced to show cards, with early cautions for both teams. Millonarios suffered the most in this aspect, accumulating six yellow cards and one red card, the latter at the end of the match. Santa Fe, for its part, received three yellow cards.
Despite Santa Fe’s greater ball possession (57%), Millonarios managed to capitalize on one of their few opportunities thanks to a goal by R. Falcao in the 44th minute, which would ultimately be the only goal of the match.
