Thrilling Match in San Jose Ends in Draw
San Jose, California – An emotionally charged encounter at PayPal Park saw the San Jose Earthquakes draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps in a Major League Soccer match marked by cards and late goals. The Earthquakes dominated possession with 62%, generating 16 shots, 5 of which were on target. However, they struggled to convert their dominance until J. Martinez converted a penalty in the 54th minute.
The match took a dramatic turn in the first half when E. Ocampo of the Whitecaps was sent off in the 27th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Despite playing with ten men, the Whitecaps managed to equalize in the 88th minute thanks to a goal by B. White assisted by T. Blackmon.
