Guingamp Stuns Saint Etienne in Their Own Stadium with a Resounding Victory
Saint-Étienne, France – In a match held at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Guingamp defeated Saint Etienne with a final score of 4 to 2 in a game filled with emotions and cards. Despite Saint Etienne dominating possession with 62%, Guingamp was more effective in front of goal.
Guingamp opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a goal from A. Hemia, after a yellow card for K. Sidibe in the 26th minute. However, Saint Etienne equalized before halftime thanks to an own goal by D. Louiserre in the 44th minute, shortly before M. Bernauer and A. In the second half, Guingamp regained the lead in the 67th minute with a goal from D. N’Landu. The situation worsened for Saint Etienne when T. Ahile scored the third goal for Guingamp in the 81st minute, at which point M. Bernauer received his second yellow card and, therefore, a red card, leaving his team with ten men. Saint Etienne tried to react and managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from M. Nade in the 90th minute, assisted by F. Tardieu, but it was too late. Guingamp sealed the victory with a fourth goal.
The match was characterized by intense play, with a total of 12 fouls committed by each team. Saint Etienne accumulated three yellow cards and one red card, while Guingamp received two yellow cards.
