Sagan Tosu defeated Jubilo Iwata with a convincing 3-0 victory at the Ekimae Real Estate Stadium in Tosu, Japan, in the 38th round of the 2024 J1 League. The match, refereed by Koichiro Fukushima, saw a fairly even possession split, with Jubilo Iwata holding a slight edge (51% to 49%). However, Sagan Tosu’s efficiency proved decisive.
Goals came from C. Togashi (16th minute), and a brace from Marcelo Ryan (30th and 59th minutes). The first, assisted by H. Nakahara, opened the scoring for the home side. Nakahara again provided the assist for Ryan’s second goal, while the third was set up by V. Slivka. Jubilo Iwata received a yellow card for J. Croux in the 21st minute. Despite a similar number of shots on target (6 each), Sagan Tosu showed greater clinical finishing.
